Los Angeles room rates have gone up

I just started back up for the Spring/Summer season, after a year of being shut down due to COVID. I've noticed that prices have gone up. And that's even with the city tacking on another $3 fee per stay. Have you folks in Los Angeles noticed the same? I think it's due to the fact that the city has turned a lot of cheap hotels into homeless shelters, and the fact that a lot of people are traveling to visit family who they haven't seen in a long time due to COVID.
