Missing Payouts, Has this happened to anybody else?

Any other hosts experiencing missing payments from Airbnb? It first happened to me earlier this year. It was just one payment that time and only a few hundred dollars. After 3 days and receiving no notice of payout I called and spent hours on the email and phone with airbnb. They finally acknowledged their error and issued the payment. For my hours of trouble they sent me a coffee mug. This time the missing payouts total nearly $2k. I have already spent much time trying to get it corrected. So far I am just getting the "we are checking into it" email message. The original rep I spoke with acknowledged to me that there was a mistake made. So now I just get to sit and wait for them to hopefully correct their error again. I wonder if I will get another coffee mug. Frankly I would rather just timely get my payouts and without having to waste hours of my time to get them. Anyway just wondering if this is happening to other hosts and also a heads up to other hosts to be sure to keep track of your payouts.

I am a new Airbnb host in London, in sheer distress and desperation. I recently hosted guests from 1st - 14th October (they leave today) and I have not yet received a payout. Despite the payout showing as ‘released’ in my Airbnb profile on 2/10/22, no funds have reached my bank account.

I am disgusted by the terrible level of customer service. No one has bothered to proactively contact me in the last 2 days, apart from a routine ‘we’ll get back to you’ message in response to regular contact that I am making to chase the issue.  Airbnb have a responsibility to communicate with, and pay its hosts on time -appalling!

I’m a busy working mother and rather than obtaining the money which I’ve rightfully earned, I am stressed, harassed, upset and now considering seeking counsel from legal professionals and consumer/regulatory champions.

I’m also highly concerned by the large numbers of posts on the community forum from other hosts in EXACTLY the same position, missing huge sums of money all over the world. I get the sense that withholding funds is some intentional internal Airbnb practice that support staff are trained to uphold??!!  If this is the case this MUST be exposed to a larger global audience! @Emilie thanks for your responses but you are doing the same frustrating thing and just telling us you speak to the team and ‘let us know!”

Hi @Rumi50

Welcome to the Community Center.

I just wanted to let you know that the online community management team including myself and @Emilie aren't Airbnb Support - the Community Center isn't a customer support medium - it's a place where we facilitate host to host conversation and provide a safe and respectful space that encourages uncensored (and constructive) discussion about what is important to Airbnb Hosts.

Wherever we can, we do try to elevate Host questions and issues internally, and to try and get more information where possible.

In the case of payout issues, this is something that needs to be discussed with Airbnb Support directly, although you are always welcome here to seek advice from your fellow Hosts.

Has there been any update to your situation with regards to the payout you mentioned?

Thanks,

Jenny

Good afternoon,

Re: Airbnb Case number 2020058793051

My name is Errol Petty and I’ve been a host on your platform since 2015. It has been an enjoyable
experience thus far with the exception of the current circumstance. I’ve hosted 18 groups over the past 5-6 weeks and my payouts have now increased to $22,557.60 without being released by your company. My paused payouts are a result of airbnb claiming that they didn’t receive my updated KYC form 5 weeks ago even though I provided a screenshot of resubmitted form. You would think the next logical thing would be to simply send another form for me to resubmit?

The most common response I’ve gotten from representatives is, “my case has been escalated to your compliance department” but nothing happens after that. I’m in dire need of my payouts to pay very important expenses like Housekeepers Salaries, Utility Bills, Mortgages and Insurances.

I would greatly appreciate if you would assist with bringing this matter to a close or provide some clarity as to what’s going on. @Emilie  @Sybe

Regards

I have the same issue. Payment not listed in Paid or Upcoming - it’s like it disappeared.

it was due 12/22/23. I have called and messaged at least 10 times. It was escalated to payments, they said yes I was due the payment but it was a technical issue and had to be escalated to engineering- obviously no response from engineering and no payment.

Each time I call or message they just tell me that it has to forwarded to “Sepcial Department” and then the case gets closed.

i can’t believe there is no accountability, no follow up, and no one really cares. I thought this was a one off for me but clearly it happens often and am shocked that AirBnB has no process to resolve it.

I am having the same issue.  My guests paid in December it's now March.  I have been told that the payout has been made but it is not showing in my account and the help centre are being very unhelpful.

They cannot confirm the exact bank account it has been sent to (so I can't verify if there is an issue with the account details) and I can't see this online in my account, just the last 4 digits.

I'm being told to update my payout details and then query it (which I had to do earlier this year and it took me 2 months to get the confirmation that they had used an old bank account and that the money was returned to Airbnb immediately) and now I'll be looking at months of waiting and going through the same process again.

It's 7k and I need the funds and I am so frustrated that Airbnb are so unresponsive.

Yes!  Airbnb owes me more than $10,000 in missing payments.  They keep telling me they are working on it but nothing changes.  Worldwide issue!

Hi! I'm currently experiencing this issue. After 5 banking days, I reported it immediately to AirBNB support and they called to tell me to wait for another 24-48 hours. I did, and I did not receive my payout so they told me to coordinate with my bank. AirBNB only provided me the payout ID to provide to my local bank and they will be able to trace it as the support told me. My bank told me that there are no transactions made with that payout ID. Now my bank advised me to get the bank account name and details of AirBNB in order for them to communicate with the transferring bank. However, the support was unable to provide it and kept on telling me to coordinate with my bank. My bank already told me the information that I should get from Airbnb but the support is not supporting me at all with my matter. 5 days ago, this matter was escalated to a specialized team, but until now. I haven't heard from them. I  hosted for 10 days, used electricity, water, etc and now I couldn't get the payout that I should've received already. I tried sending a message with the airbnb support for a follow-up, but I get no response. 10 banking days passed and my payout is still not received with my bank. Hopefully, AIRBNB would do better.
