PMS affecting algorithms

I just recently started using a property management software program to help me stay organized. From what I can understand, using a program like this doesn't affect the algorithms within Airbnb. Do y'all know if that is in fact the case? Thank you!

I’ve read on the boards here that using PMS can affect your search listing ranking especially when you link to other competitor platforms. 

Perhaps @Joan2709 can provide some insight (she’s really knowledgeable and helpful)?

@Lorina14 tagged me on this and as far as I know, those using a PMS should not experience a change in how the search algorithm ranks their listings.

The only thing I am aware of regarding PMS integration is some Hosts who have hotesl and/or have most of their listings outside of the US (except for a handful of other countries) may be automatically switched to the Host only fee structure.

The only other thing I have heard reported is that Custom Promotions are no longer available for PMS connected listings. However, another Host reported they did not experience that, so perhaps that has changed?

I do believe though @Joan2709 & @Calli102 that your email boosting when you run an Airbnb promo will be gone since you will no longer be managing pricing via the bnb software (ex: 20%+ discount will often generate listing promotion in emails, etc as stated in their promotion tool).    Any thoughts on that aspect?

Yes...I believe that is true. Airbnb Custom Promotions offer the email marketing if the promotion is at least 20% discount.

It is a consideration, but many use a PMS and I don't think I have heard alot of issues?  We don't use a PMS (yet), but maybe some Hosts who do can chime in on this topic?
