I am a guest trying to get a refund payout from a cancelled reservation. Has anyone been in this same situation, because I was wondering if I choose PayPal as my payout option will there be fees for this? I heard they charge fees for business accounts and I believe my account is personal, but how does PayPal know which accounts are personal or business anyways?
I have cancelled my reservation and I have not received the refund yet. Airbnb contacted me and said I have to select a payout method before they can refund me. I want to choose PayPal but it says there may be a fee so I was wondering if PayPal will take a portion of my refund because of this. Thanks for the reply.
Why don't you get it credited to the card you used to pay? Cards usually do not have fees. I had to cancel a booking as a guest, and 100% of the money was credited to my card, no fees.
My situation is a bit different. I was told to select the credit option when cancelling my reservation and then they would refund me. They made a mistake, because once you choose the credit option there is no way to refund your money to the original payment method.
So now in order to get my money back I have to select a “Pay out method”. I want to choose the card I used to make the reservation attached to my PayPal account but I am afraid that PayPal will see the money returned as a profit from a sale instead of a refund. Money coming in for a profit requires a fee.
