Paying rental tax in italy through Airbnb - how do I then claim back on expenses ?

Hello - like many rental property owners in Italy I am now having to pay rental tax on my Italian Airbnb property (I live in the UK).

It is my understanding that Airbnb withhold the 21 % tax for submission to the Italian authorities.

My question is ............ How do I then claim back expenses (maintenance etc)

is there a dual taxation? 

if taxes being paid in the UK the HMRC has a list of allowable expenses on its website .
