Hello Airbnb Community, I am reaching out here because I have been trying for weeks to solve an issue with Airbnb support center about a payment I am owed for my current guest who is being hosted at my apartment. I am a super host and have been receiving 3-4 guests monthly in my apartment, I have never had any issues with receiving payments until now.
The payment was sent on May 22 with a notice that I would receive it in up to 7 business days, but now it will have been 9 business days - and I have reached out to Airbnb and my bank several times , airbnb claiming to have successfully sent out the payment and my bank repeating that the payment has not been identified, regardless if the receipt Airbnb sent me. There have been no changes in my bank account during this time- no one seems to know what the issue is and I’m worried if I don’t bring attention to this urgently it may not be resolved for weeks or even months. Has anyone had an issue like this?
Your profile says "Guest" and we don't know the listing URL for your friend's listing. It would be helpful for your friend to create their own profile in the CC and post about the issue here. Banking regulations vary by country...where is your friend's listing located? What country?
I asked him to complain, but when he read that this often happened to people, he said there is no point to complain if nobody got a solution, but i will try to make him complain to let people know what they should do before get start their own business here
I'm having a similar issue: Payout sent to a non existant bank account and Airbnb have spent 3 months avoiding doing anything about it. They could easily have recalled and reissued the payout, but instead just sent meaningless, patronising messages. Around 100 messages later and I have tried raising a complaint multiple times, but they don't acknowledge it - of course they will keep the money if they can get away with it. Finally, they woke up when I quoted paragraph 17.2.2 of Airbnb Payments UK t's and c's, which dictates they are obliged to refund or at least make an effort to recover the money. Still waiting for them action anything, but at least they are subscribed to the FCA's code of conduct, so that will be the final port of call if they continue to be obstructive.
Don't hold your breath with FCA @Fergus43 as they and Airbnb will merely say they they can do what they want.
We went down that path and still remain unpaid for there IT department interface Problems colliding and not adhering to there own policies.
Airbnb have previously been in hot water with Data Protection Authority Ireland and need to sort out there Due Diligence processing.
It doesn't help that there was a KYC International program in conjunction with IBM & Microsoft rolled out as a learning and Digital access we have all been subjected to that has messed up systems as they don't adhere to, nor apply Rule of Law requirements over the past 5 years.
No "Logic" has been applied with such copy paste one size fits all Approach but hey some who think they are above the law has made a fortune and screwed up lives everywhere.
