I’m trying to add my card to my account for payment. I think the system is having a hard time verifying me. What should I do?
Hello @Tina13717
These are the steps to enter your bank details from a computer:
In host mode go onto your Today page:
==>Top right hand corner you'll see three lines on top of each other, click
==>Click on Account settings
==>Payments
==>Move the cursor to Payouts
==>Add your payment method
Hope this does the trick! Airbnb should send you a few $$ or whatever your local currency is to the account for verification purposes

Hi @Tina13717, it can be quite a headache when you’re ready to host but the verification system feels like it’s hitting a wall. This usually happens because of a mismatch between your bank's records and the platform's security filters.
Here are the best steps to resolve this quickly:
Check the Details: Ensure the name and billing address on the card exactly match the legal information on your hosting profile. Even a small typo or using a nickname instead of your legal name can trigger a verification failure.
Clear Your Browser Cache: Sometimes "digital crumbs" in your browser can interfere with the verification pop-ups. Try clearing your cache or attempting the setup in an Incognito/Private window.
Contact Your Bank: Occasionally, banks flag international or platform-specific verification "micro-charges" as suspicious activity. A quick call to your bank to authorize the platform can often clear the path immediately.
Verify Your ID First: Ensure your primary Government ID is fully verified on your account. If your personal identity isn't 100% confirmed, the system often blocks the addition of new payout methods as a security measure.
In my own experience, these technical hurdles are usually just a one time thing. Once that connection is made, the rest of the hosting journey becomes much smoother! Are you receiving a specific error code, or is the page just getting stuck on a loading screen?
It is very easy to get confused because "Payment" and "Payout" sound so similar, but they actually handle two completely different directions of money. Payment is what happens when money goes out from a guest to the platform to book a stay. If you are trying to book a place, you are dealing with your Payment methods. Payout, on the other hand, is how you the host actually receive your earnings from your guests' stays. Since you are setting up your hosting profile for your own business, you are likely looking for the Payout settings to ensure your hard-earned money lands in the right account.
If the system is struggling to verify your card, double-check that you are in the "Payout Methods" section rather than "Payment Methods," as the verification requirements can sometimes differ between the two. Using a clear, legal name and matching your bank's billing address exactly is usually the fastest way to get through that "robot" filter.
