Planning permission - Scarborough area

Hi, does anyone know if planning is required to 1. List a room in your house on Airbnb or 2. List the whole house on Airbnb in the Scarborough area? Thanks

Thanks so much for your message here on the Community Center. I wondered if you'd spoken to your local council to see if there was any guidance from them regarding short term holiday lets?

It depends is the answer @Marcus796 

Not for a room in your home. Perhaps if it's a whole listing - say if it's an annexe in your garden that doesn't have planning permission for commercial use .

Worth you looking at proposed government STR regulations due to be introduced this year. 

and making sure you comply with the 2023 fire regulations which requires you to have a fire assessment plan.
