Hi - I’m new to hosting and have set my rooms at the flexible rate. However for a four day booking my minimum room price was charged only for the first night and the following three nights were half price! This does not seem right to me and I had no control over it. Can anyone explain why this has happened and how I can avoid it happening in the future? Many thanks, Elle
A "flexible rate" does not excists. You probably refer to "Smart Pricing". Prices are then set within a choosen bandwith. But price can never be below the bottom limit set. So you probably are offering a discount for 2, 3 or 4 night stay. I visited your listing, but availability is very limited, so could not check.
thanks for your speedy response. Yes I do mean smart pricing! I don’t think I have a discount set for more than one night. I checked the discount section of my settings. Previous guests have stayed for 4 nights and paid the same rate for each night. It’s very annoying to have Airbnb automatically charging the wrong price. Puts me in an embarrassing spot with the guest. Availability is limited as I am either booked or have had to block out quite a bit for family!! Any suggestions or should I try to contact Airbnb direct? This particular guest cancelled and I have new booking so I haven’t lost out but could so easily have done! Thanks Ellie
