Property purchase offer through Airbnb

Hi everyone

I don't know if any other hosts have had the experience of being approached by parties interested in purchasing their property through Airbnb?

My experience on the weekend was that I thought I had received an Airbnb booking enquiry for February.

However, when I opened the booking request message I was asked if I was the owner of the property and was I interested in selling!

In my reply to the sender I asked if he was still interested in booking, and of course he wasn't!

He went on to say that to be able to message me through Airbnb he had to pretend he was making a booking enquiry.  

I just thought I would make Airbnb hosts aware about this practice, if they weren't already.
