I am a homeowner here in Brooklyn of a legal two-family townhouse. My understanding is that the laws in NYC make it illegal for Air B&B hosts who reside in Class A multiple dwellings -- buildings designed for three or more families -- to list their apartment for rentals of less than 30 days. Does anyone know if this also pertains to owners like myself, who have stand-alone single or two-family residences? Thanks in advance for any insight here.
you are not sure it is fully illegal, nys law say single or two familly could do STR. but I dont know nyc can supperceed that law.Riddiculous selucus!!!
you can’t do that airbnb must withdraw the full monthly amount from the visitors
it is legal since you are short term host for house not the apt. That ruke applies for apt not the house
Hello everyone,
I have been reading all these inputs here. we recently bought a 2-family home in Queens we occupy the entire house.
1st family home upstairs
3rd floor where we sleep (2 bedrooms & full bathroom)
2nd floor where we have open space (kitchen, dining room & living room with a half bathroom), here there is also a bedroom in the back with a full in-suite bathroom intended for Airbnb STR
2nd family home downstairs
1st floor we have a big family room, small kitchen (used for gatherings) with a full bathroom and in the back also a bedroom with a full in-suite bathroom intended for Airbnb STR
Basement we have another bedroom, full bathroom, small kitchen, laundry room and a storage room.
Anybody knows if I will comply with OSE regulation by having the 2 Airbnb STR bedrooms on the 1st & 2nd floors?
Thanks.
