Retaliatory Review Removal

I failed to get a guest review removed, it is clearly a retaliatory review, I tried to process a claim for damages and violation of my house polices, with a clear evidance and failed, no reason given.

My property after 51 reviews, has a rating of 4.71, and the guest first time staying with Airbnb gave me a 1 star rating,  I feel this is well out of place?

The guest review made reference to my claim in her review for example "Communication 1 star, yet saying “Fine until after checkout when opportunistic fines”  reimbursements for damages (fines) were not part of the check in or check out process they were requested after they left, 24 hours after, therefore how can the opportunistic fines be apart of this ? Surely a clear indication that this is a retaliatory review."

I'm a Super Hoist of 3 years, this obvioulsy accounts for nothing.

Feel very badly let down by Airbnb, considering leaving.

I think that just comes with the territory and not to worry.  Your consistent reviews is what matters.  I always thought you only contact Airbnb for damages not the guest?  Is that not true?  Do you have to contact guest first or were you just being communicative - thinking it would work out for all... what was the damage (accidental or intentional?)

I had almost the same thing happen to me, my Cottages (2) have never been lower than 5 star. I had a guest check in, use the kitchen, take a bath, then called me and said if I would give back half his money he would give me a 5 star review, if not, he would give me a bad review. I told him I would not be blackmailed, I called Airbnb and explained the situation,  Airbnb wanted to side with that guest. After going over this with Airbnb support, I finally told them that it takes years and hard work to get upto a 5 star, and have 1 person knock it down with a lie is wrong. I told them it not only hurts my Cottage, but when we lose guests, Airbnb will also lose money. He finally said he would hide that guest review.

I really don't like reviews, there are some really bad guest out there that can ruin your ratings and I agree that Airbnb should stand behind the host, after all, we are business with them.
