STRA

Hi good host folks

i have relisted my listing after a year's absence.

recently I got a message from airbnb telling me I had to register my page to get a STRA number in order to continue using airbnb.

is this a scam? I didn't do this last time and with all the scams that are around these days, I thought I'd get clarification to learn if this is necessary or not.

I live in Perth 6104.

TIA

Helen

@Helen293 . Hi Helen, looks like you have until 1 January to get your registration sorted.  See Short-Term Rental Accommodation Register - Frequently asked questions  Just read through to check it applies to you.

Here in NSW its been law for several years and pretty painless, as long as you realise that AIrbnb is sending all your data to the ATO etc 😉

My city in South Carolina started this last year. Couple of assumptions

money grab for the city & county. I had to jump thru a few hoops.

Maybe some won’t bother which would help other hosts with over saturated markets.

Hello @Helen293

Congratulations on re-listing your property! It looks like @Frances3408 and @Kathy1371 shared some insights regarding this STRA number.

Please let us know when you have a chance to read this, it would be great to know if it helped or if you have any more questions. 😊
