Shifting Airbnb Reservation fee to hosts

Shifting Airbnb Reservation fee to hosts

I think this is a STUPID decision on by Airbnb. A reservation fee now becomes a higher rental fee. NOT SMART.  Time to consider more options.
what do others think?

If the increase on the host side is done correctly, the price stays very close to the same on the guest side @Victor4844

It's just collected on one side of the transaction (host) instead of both sides (host and guest).

Yes, I understand. But as a guest booking the reservation, they currently see what Airbnb is charging them. With this change, it gets buried in the rental price, making the rental look higher. Airbnb wants to make it look like they are not making a bunch of revenue from the rental.

HI @Victor4844  - many hosts don't like it (we are in that camp) and others do like it, it seems to appeal to a European idea.

We think it has had a direct impact on our AIRBNB business in a negative way.

Lots of posts about it.

And now, the plot thickens, as the AIRBNB fees that the guest has paid are no longer even showing on the host side (not sure if this affects your dashboard),  but that fee has disappeared from our screen and many others and so it is now completely hidden, which means, that when it goes up you won't really know .

Fun times!
