Special offer

This is only my second day of having a listing. I got 2 requests this morning and one booked. This evening I had an inquiry about what my special offer is. I found that Airbnb added to my listing that I have a special offer of 0% until October. I tried to change the present from 0% but I can not make any change there. I found where I can delete the offer and got a warning message that I will not be able to get the special offer back. I notice that the price on the inquiry seemed to already reflect a small discount so I thought maybe Airbnb put it on. Then I found that I can change my price for each night by clicking on the special offer information but the offer still reads 0% which I think is not appealing. Maybe I should just delete it because I do not want my listing to say I am offering a special discount of 0%. I tried raising my price so that I could discount and it looks like it will charge the reduced rate but still not advertise the discount.  I wish this special discount came with more of an explanation. Does that mean I will get paid less? or is Airbnb taking the hit for the discount? Thank you for any help

@Lisa6243  Airbnb applies a special offer with a discount to promote new listings.  As it's not quite working, and you don't really need it because you're already seeing activity, you should feel free to delete it. Airbnb doesn't take the hit on discounts - they come out of your pocket.  Discounts tend to attract sub-par guests - for instance, for some reason they always complain about "value" in the ratings.  You're better off without one.
