Taxes Collected and Remitted in British Columbia

Hi everyone, I've been  hosting in Vancouver, BC Canada for approx. the last year and a half. I am at the stage where I need to know how the taxes are all collected and remitted and whether it's Airbnb that does this on my behalf, or otherwise? I've been told by Airbnb support that they are collecting and remitting the taxes, but only the GST. (or so I think...I'm not 100% sure). And exactly what taxes are charged and what taxes am I responsible for? I've registered an account and have a GST number, but I have not submitted this to Airbnb because my understanding is that I don't need to. Also, do I need to register for anything else? PST? MRDT? I have no idea. It's not straightforward, to say the least. I'm feeling quite confused by it all and can't seem to get a clear answer from the Airbnb Support Team. Help!!

i would ask your other questions on your local host group as most of us in this international community won't understand the acronyms you're using 😀😀

Thanks, @Helen3. This is the link that Airbnb support sent to me to post in the community forum. Also, the reason I mentioned my location in Canada. Perhaps you know how I would connect with the local community? 

I know I'm responsible for paying my personal taxes at the end of the year. The question is whether I'll need to remit the GST (in BC, Canada) if airbnb is already collecting and remitting it on my behalf. Plus a few more questions. Again, its not very clear. Cheers!
