Taxes as a helping host

Taxes as a helping host

Hi, I am helping a family member with her Air Bnb.

I will be adding a separate checking into my account where all funds will be deposited. I get a certain cut from that, but the rest will be there in to help pay fort anything that comes up.

How do taxes work on something like that? Do I claim the full amount as my income because it is all being deposited into a bank account with my name on it?

You can help your family member set up the listing under their profile . @Ally1645

they can then send you an invite to act as a cohost  and set up whatever percentage you have agreed for you to manage the listing .

they will then pay tax on the income they generate  and you will pay tax on the income you generate .

there is no reason for you to have all the income paid to you .

you can ask a local accountant to help you with taxes.

have a look at the Airbnb cohosting to understand how cohosting works.
