Hi guys, I am hosting from November 2022 in Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic). I got some email about taxes and as me and my boyfriend are new in hosting people, we are not sure if we do everything right. I am not sure, if Airbnb pays taxes from our earnings odrdo we need to make some special step and pay it by ourselves? Airbnb takes about 15% in our country. Unfortunately I did not find any information on-line. Sorry for maybe stupid question and thank you for help. Martin and Nela
Of course Airbnb won't pay for your personal taxes @Nela293 you need to submit a tax return .
What do you mean when you say Airbnb take 15% for your country . Are you referring to the guest fee or another tax for your location??
@Nela293 No Airbnb doesn't pay your taxes. Any income they send to you has to be reported to your tax authority and you have to pay tax on it. You pay also need to report the Airbnb service fee but this can then be expensed so you will not pay income tax on it. I think you need to find a local host to help you or possibly employ an accountant until you learn what is needed.
Hi @Nela293, I am sharing an article about the 👉taxes you need to pay as an experienced host in the Czech Republic.
I hope you find it useful.
