Township Rental Registration

This month I received a letter from my Township (Meridian, Michigan) stating that it has come to their attention that our property is being used as a rental dwelling. As we only rent out a room, it doesn't appear to me that I meet the "qualifications" as a rental property. Just wondering if and how anyone else has dealt with this?

Gosh, when will local authorities and others wake and realise it's perfectly fine to let out a Private room within one's home?

Have you looked up what information your Taxation office has?

Use it as a tool to counter any claim you may be needing to address the situation.
