Updated fee policy

Updated fee policy

Would like to know how others feel about the new policy for fees where the host pays the fees.

Air BNB claims that this allows the guest to see the price with fees. However, when a guest (at least in my area of the United States) is looking at rentals after entering their criteria, the price reflected includes all fees and Air BNB states as such within the results on the search page.

I recognize the net result is the same provided I accept the new policy by September 15th.

Just wanted to hear others opinions

Correct @Kolene-And-Steve0

The guest sees virtually the same price and your payout is the same, unless you forget to update by 15 September.

The new AirBnB changes are completely ridiculous and every host is simply going to jack the prices up on customers. Removing the cancellation policies is also another bad move.

Regarding the cancellation policy changes:

I pre-emptively changed our cancellation policy from strict at the beginning of summer and have been regretting it.

We had a group booked for July 4th at our cabin 2 months in advance and cancel 36 hours before the holiday leaving us next to no time at all to fill the weekend. We also got zero financial compensation for this.

The guest total stays virtually the same after you run the price increase tool @Kolene-And-Steve0 (because both parts of the split fee are now part of the calendar price).

You can take screenshots in guest view before running the tool to confirm for yourself that guests aren't noticeably worse off afterwards.
