Would a Single Monthly Payout from Airbnb Be Helpful?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been thinking it could be easier if Airbnb offered a single monthly payout instead of getting paid after each booking. It would make managing finances and tracking income more straightforward.

Do you think this would be helpful for your business? Would you prefer it over the current setup? I’m curious to know if anyone else feels the same!

Let’s discuss and see if this idea has support! 💡💬

I think many hosts appreciate having payouts closely aligned with guest check-ins or check-outs since it makes managing immediate expenses, like cleaning fees, maintenance, and restocking supplies, much more straightforward. However, it would be interesting to hear from other hosts about their perspectives on this.

What challenges are you currently facing with the existing payout system? You could also submit your feedback directly to Airbnb here, suggesting this as an option to accommodate different financial management styles.

Hello @Quincy @Alberto1991

As far as I'm concerned, I agree with you Quincy - having pay outs per reservation is not something I would want to see changed.

The new revenue features that have just come out are great since they provide valuable information of any refunds, credits, tax deducted, Airbnb commission, cleaning etc and I would fear that if we only had a monthly payment, all this information would also be jumbled together making it far more difficult to detect payment issues to name but that.

I have to declare every quarterly to my local authorities how many guests stayed, nights booked per stay so that they can double check that the tourist tax that Airbnb has declared actually checks out.  Easy to do when you have the detailed payment transaction per reservation.

@Alberto1991 we always kept a spreadsheet of each stay, duration, Airbnb fees and net revenue to us. This way we could check Airbnb always paid out but also it allowed us to calculate all the info needed on HMRC tax forms and VOA forms to prove we were eligible for business rates.

Sending money monthly would actually make this harder and just allows Airbnb to keep the guests money for even longer than they do today!
