YouTuber, Sean Rakidzich

Sean Rakidzich has a very popular channel on YouTube about Airbnb hosting.  In one of his latest videos, he advises hosts to set up a company, rent out apartments and not tell the landlords that you will be doing Airbnb in the apartment, "and it is not illegal," Sean claims.  Sean is a host himself he says.  Sean has over 200,000 subscribers at YouTube.  He sells courses on hosting.

Airbnb has suffered so much negative publicity, I feel this advice is unethical, and will damage Airbnb as a whole, and hosts in particular.  I feel that we need to be good examples so that our local communities see the value in what we are doing.  We provide jobs for local people and tourists also buy from local stores.  Unethical behavior will be talked about.  We will all suffer.

But basically lying or (not being totally honest with landlords) is what Rakidzich espouses as being "sales."   I feel what it espouses is being a sleaze bag.   Sean himself admits this is "controversial."  What do others think?

Should we do whatever we want and not tell the truth when renting an apartment as it is "just sales."   I suspect that CEO Brian Chesky would be very much against behavior like this.  Here is Sean's video:  https://youtu.be/DTLc7GLpkYA?si=PHNVyDbPi81pvCtS

What do you think?

As a large scale host with low ratings way below Airbnb's 4.6 rating standard - who Airbnb allows to continue to host on its platform despite an average 4.41 rating @Sean1591

do you know why Airbnb allows large scale operators to get away with low ratings . Are you allowed to meet lower ratings?

Allow me to step in and shed some light on this:

To be absolutely clear, Sean and I have no connection beyond the fact that I paid for several of his trainings, including some one-on-one sessions. While the one-on-ones were pricey, they were worth every penny. I can confidently say that I owe the vast majority of my success in short-term rentals to him. While I bring over a decade of experience in the group travel industry and a background in coding and tech, which positions me well for success on this tech platform, Sean’s insights are undeniably a major factor in my company’s achievements.

Additionally, many of his most valuable short-term rental tips can be found for free on his YouTube channel. Someone coming onto Airbnb message boards to bad-mouth a clear leader in our industry says more about them than it does about Sean. If you don’t like what someone is saying, just turn it off. There’s no need to drag others down or tarnish their reputation simply because you don’t agree—it’s petty and unnecessary.

I highly recommend that anyone reading this check out his free YouTube content @AIRBNBAUTOMATED—it’s packed with valuable insights. And if you take a close look at my listing, it’s pretty evident that I know exactly what I’m doing when it comes to this game we all call STR hosting.

Happy Hosting My Friends! @Sean1591

@Greg2581@Sean1591 . It is ILLEGAL to sub let without owners permission in every state in Australia as it invalidates the standard lease clauses. Perhaps this is why @Sean1591 seems to be relying on using his own variety but you cannot do that without exposing yourself to legal redress if it removes some basic property owner and tenant rights.

I see @Sean1591 did reply to my post last year about his personal circumstances on being evicted but as he did not address it back to me I did not see it till now. I would still not allow a property I own to be sub let: either I will STR myself or it wont be a STR. This is why other owners trust me to host.

Not a game imo but horses for courses. Good luck.
