Hi, trying to set my prices for spring and summer. My spring prices are lower than summer prices. Used to be able to click on a start date and then an end date and set price for that period and then do same for other months. It won't let me do this and now I have to set each daily price individually. Tedious in the extreme given we are talking about 6 months of dates. Can anyone please tell me how to do this without using smart pricing? thanks.
Yes, it's tedious. You have to click on each day, one after another, until all of the dates you want to modify are selected. Then click the edit button.
Yes, to do this for an entire season is a bit tedious. But you get used to it.
I can click on the first date (release click) then scroll to the end date and click again. All dates are highlighted and I can change the price all at once. I am on a laptop.
Click and drag works for me too. PC Chrome desktop. @Amanda1898, sub question for you: Are you using Smart Pricing and/or how have you strategized your pricing? I'm less than 4 months in to hosting and I have raised our minimum way above where Airbnb suggests, for starters, and it does have some higher prices heading into summer but prices seems to fluctuate a lot. We are in a reasonably big market so it would seem they would have a good amount of data to draw on for their pricing algorithm.
@Mike2469 I am lazy so use smart pricing on our 2 smaller listings. It seems to up the price for dates 3+ months in advance and then reduces to the minimum for dates within 2-3 months of the stay. If, as we do, bookings tend to come with relatively little advance notice (especially in Covid times) we seem to only get the min price we set.
@Mike-And-Jane0, thanks so much for the explanation on how smart pricing "works" for you. Yeah, prices do seem to move to the minimum closer to the date. Thankfully we are getting quite a few advanced bookings, so not always minimum. How do you guys set pricing on your larger listings?
Thanks,
Mike
@Mike2469 How do we set prices on our larger listing? Difficult question as it's a bit random. We have a higher price at weekends, lower during the week and a discount to people who book for 7 days+. We tend to book up quite late so it is hard to adjust pricing dynamically. I should say we also regularly check pricing in the area to make sure we are competitive but not overly cheap.
@Amanda1898 - i came to this discussion to find the very answer to the very question you posed. I remembered setting my summer prices the way you described, and now that's gone. I have no idea why they would remove this convenient feature. So yeah - - now i have to click each day (weekends/weekdays) to change. Dumb. Glad i at least learned i wasn't losing it and just couldn't find the HOW!
