Hi, Roger. I will arrive at around 1pm. Thanks.

Roger

Hello!
A person, named "Jack" - without surname - from Planet Earth - no country, no name of a city or a village - want to be my guest in my private home.

I dont see a picture of him. There are no Informations about him. He send me this:
"Hi, Roger. I will arrive at around 1pm. Thanks."
He does not ask me if he can be my guest, he tells me when he's there.

I think, in real he might be a Mafioso, globally hunted by the FBI.

Do you think, I´ll open him my door?
I am not an Hotel. This is my private home, and I have little Kids.

AirBnB is not a Hotel-Portal. And I am old school.
So give some respect, show me, who you are -
and than I will decide, if I will invite you in to my live and in to my house.

Try again.
Best, Roger

@Nicole489

even if Roger has a surname, city and the profile picture you can't see it before booking is done. And all hosts share your concerns and none of us like it, believe me. Airbnb says it's for antidiscrimination purposes but it's just an excuse for a stupid regulation which makes more harm than good.

I have one of this UFO-s right now. Can't pass the instant booking criteria and sends me a message. "Hi, i am XXX, I liked your room, but want to ask some personal questions. Contact me at Whatsapp..." And sends tel. number-words and digits, to pass threw the ABB filter.

First...my listing is not a room.

Second...the profile is completely blank. Nothing. Joined August 2019.

Third...It took some time to ask Google what is "WhatSapp" - a phone/chat program for android smartphones. No version for Linux.

I sent pre-approval, but I was sure, that she (it was a female name) will not book in the next 24h.

So, this is exactly what happened. The number was from GB, mobile.

UFO-s are like a flock these days...

@Nicole489 , hi, how are you?

In my house rules that everyone can read before booking I set as 1st House Rules:

Please introduce yourself before booking.

When the guest introduces theiselves I have some questions that for me is important. The first is if they are or not smokers. I wouldnt like any smokers in my house because the smell for me is intolerable, either if they didnt smoke inside.

2n the purpose of their travel. If it is for work, where they working.

3th... I let clearly that I will ask to see their valid ID card during the check in. Sometimes people booking for others...and in that case, if something happens, Airbnb or your private insurance doesnt cover your damage.
