Entire place and private room. Should I do two separate listings?

Hi Guys:

I want to rent my entire place in Tahoe, when I am travelling, but only rent a room when I am not.  My private room is set up, but not the entire place. Should I set up two seperate listings, each with different calendars and prices?

I am having a blast doing this. I've met some great people.

Thanks,

Tom

@Tom179  The short answer is yes that is what you do.  What you want to do is common with hosts that have a private room most of the time and the entire house when they are travelling or if there is a high demand event.  Two listings with two calendars that you coordinate.  If you have never rented an entire house, as I have not, I have seen many, many postings about pitfalls.  Educating yourself about how to protect your home when you are not around and how to vet guests can be accomplished by searching this forum.

Thanks Linda! I've rented my entire Place in SF, so I have gone thru the dramas. 🙂

I really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tom

@Tom179 I was wondering the same thing? I rent just a private room here in my home in Salem MA. ( I live in the home ( the guests area is very private mutli level townhouse. However, there are times I travel especially during the summer to Cape Cod Ma. Did you find out is there a way to do this? thanks in advance

@Alicia242  As I mentioned in my previous post, just set up another listing and coordinate the calendars.  You can look up how to sync the calendars in the Help Center.  Perhaps there are some ideas about how to guest proof your home for when you are traveling in the many discussion threads here on the CC.  Also, you would need to have someone be your co-host while you are gone so you can enjoy your vacation and so the guest can be responded to if something comes up.  Good luck!!

 Good to know thank you!
