A guest wants to add an extra night to her three day booking, thus making it four nights. However, when I sent her the amendment request, she seems to be charged an extra 25% or so on top. I could understand if it was around the 12% mark, but this seems like a lot, especially as the percentage is supposed to go down the more nights in total you book, or at least that's what I thought.
Does this seem normal?
She doesn't want to book at that price, which I understand, as the extra night is coming up as so much more than the other nights she aleady booked.
Hi @Huma0,
That does sound like a higher percentage fee than it should be - this Help Guide offers more explanation about the guest service fees which you may find useful. She may need to contact Airbnb if there is definitely an issue.
Just to let you know as well, I have moved your post here to a new thread in Community Help, as it will make it easier for other users to find and give you advice. I have also given it a title, please let me know if you want to change it!

Thank you @Kirstie. She said she would contact Airbnb. I was just trying to see if I could find a quicker solution for her.
@Kirstie, unfortunately my guest didn't get a response from Airbnb and has now decided not to stay the extra night. That's a bit of a shame as, had the price been correct, she would have booked there and then. Oh well. Next time I will contact Airbnb myself!
@Huma0 oh dear that is frustrating. Thanks for letting us know what happened. Hopefully it was just a one-off issue with the system so there won't be a next time but, as you say, it might be worth you contacting Airbnb yourself if it does happen again!

Wondering if maybe you had a higher rate for the weekend and this extra day fell on it? That would explain the higher price
Hi @Karin38, thanks for the suggestion, but no, the extra night requested was a Monday and my weekend prices only apply to Friday and Saturdays. Plus, I could see from my end that the nightly fees were correct. It was extra charges added on to the booking details the guest received that seemed to be the problem.
I have the same problem - a guest wants to add an extra night and I am trying to set up but Airbnb wants to charge her €1,000 euros instead of about 408 euros. That is above our nightly price and I can't seem to change this. Unfortunately this happened before. We need to get this to Airbnb's attention. I don't want to lose this extra night's booking...
What if bad weather causes guests flight to be canceled and he has to stay one more night?
