@Nikolina2 I see that you have 1 review for the Beach House for 2016 so it would seem that 2 guests did not leave a review at all. That means that 2/3 of your guests are not responding to review requests. Airbnb looks negatively on situations where guests don't leave a review. In fact, if a host has too many instances of guests not leaving a review, they could lose Super Host status.
The best way to avoid this is to ask guests at check out to be sure to leave a review as it is important to your business. I know it's hard sometimes. I just had guests who didn't leave a review even though I messaged them personally to do so. My guess is that they think I have plenty of great reviews and that they don't need to add another one not realizing how failure to leave a review affects my standing with Airbnb.
Hope this helps and that future guests leave reviews for the Beach House!

Thank you,i didnt know it works that way.Very helpful
Some people just do not like writing reviews.. Why is a host penalized ?
Also, I feel like it is more difficult to leave an honest review when you are concerned about the review the other party might give you.
My listing states 4 reviews from all four guests to date, with all 4 giving 5 stars throughout, except one review gave 4 stars on only one of the catagories. Yet my tally by Airbnb states %50 , 5 star reviews. That does not add up. How often are the star numbers adjusted?
Hi I have a problem with these star ratings too
I have all 5 star ratings except 1 which gave me a 2 star after they destroyed my property and I gave them a awful review ! Airbnb investigated and they got me an additional amount of money from the “ guests” to make up for everything I has to do to get my home back to booking ready
however the 2 star rating brought my overall rating down to 4.8 I find this extremely unfair to owners
the guests should have to review first so we don’t get bad reviews if they were awful guest
this reviewer even said “ I was going to give 5 stars until she gave her rating@ !
The guest did not see your review of them before writing their own review.
Neither the guest nor the host can see the other side's review until after both sides write reviews (or 14 days have passed, in which case they can't write a review any more).
They probably gave a bad review because of the dispute.
Thanks Matthew for the info
yes they did know about the dispute
andAirbnb did help collecting the monies to help put my home back to booking ready
How do you see how many stars a guest has given? I get tired of trying to figure out your site!!
I have 5 star ratings overall, but have been given two 4 star ratings in location & cleanliness but I can't see which guests have given those ratings - I want to see this, so that I can understand if there is a particular issue that either of these guests raised or whether a different guest rated us low but didn't give us feedback. Is there a way to do this?
Hi
When guests give you 4star rating how come the overall becomes 3star and when they 5star rating in all categories except one they give 4 star but overall becomes 4star. How is this calculated
@Anita219. The overall experience rating is a separate rating a guest can choose. It is not an average of the other star ratings. So, a guest could leave 4 stars for every category and a 3 star for overall experience.

Well that’s just not right. I just got knock down via the star rating location, because it wasn’t close to where they wanted to be.
We've been renting out a pop-up camper on our property for four years and maintained a 4.8+ rating the whole time. Now it's dropped, mostly due to one family who gave us a one-star rating because our property doesn't have manicured lawns like they expected (we don't claim this and it is pretty clear in the photos) and we have a hose that runs out to the garden, which they said made them feel unsafe on our property due to the tripping hazard and they were unhappy that Airbnb didn't find them a different place that met their criteria. They said the camper itself, the outdoor shower, kitchen and bathroom were all clean and comfortable but gave us one star for cleanliness because there was an area of bare ground outside the camper. It seems unfair that our rating should be impacted so much by one family with unrealistic expectations for a $40/night camping rental. Airbnb support said there was nothing to be don about it, though, and have taken away the super host status. Do we have any other recourse other than renting via another company? Aside from this, we've been very happy with Airbnb.
