Safety concerns over Co-hosting?

I mange a few of our own listings and thought I could co-host some others in my city.  So I signed up to see what it was all about.  Invariably co-hosting means you need to go meet a stranger in their own apartment/house....   to figure out the details.  

Anyone else have concerns about this?  Or ways of dealing with this?  This also has the potential to be a huge waste of my time... Travelling across town to get details for a proposal only to have someone change their mind.

Anyone with experiences out there?

Not really unusual...tradesman, estate agents, etc. meet strangers in their homes all the time. If you are really worried about it, you could let someone else know whom you are meeting, where and how long you plan to be there. You could also bring a partner or friend as long as it is done professionally.
