We were required by the IRS to withhold tax for this transaction.

For the last few weeks i have been confused on the amounts that were being deposited into my business account.

I come to find out that Airbnb is withholding taxes for certain transacations.

The amount withheld is $2159.2

If i was warned about anything, i would have taken care of it on the spot, but i wasnt notified, or warned, my payouts were just taken from me, slipped under my feet.

This is so wrong, this is so unfortunate, and i am furious.

I have plans to grow and expand my reach, and i might just do it elsewhere.

Does anyone have information on how to get that money back from Airbnb?

Does anyone know how to fix this payout issue?

I am running into the same issue where Airbnb starting withholding 24% of my earning for federal taxes.  There was an error on my W9 and without warming they started the deductions. I immediately corrected and sent in a 147C not once but twice, which is what they required to remove the withholdings.   It’s been over two months and after talking with 2 managers, 4 people from the tax department and about 12 different support agents I still cannot get someone who is capable of turning the withholding off.  They’ve admitted I’ve provided all the correct info they need but don’t seem to know how to stop the withholdings.  Am I stuck having these withholdings as long as I continue to use Airbnb?  I have a lot of expenses associated with my properties and having 24% withheld could mean I lose money every month.  Any advice anyone has on how to get Airbnb to care about resolving this issue please please let me know.

I have been paying the tax of 14% since I have a license for the City of Tybee and the county of Chatham.  This must be paid every month to City and every 3 months to the County.  It turns out Airbnb is taking this money from the visitors, and I can't find where they are paying it for my visitors??  They said to go to CSV and it will be listed there.  I can't find this anywhere.  Anyone know where to fine this CSV?  I will call again to the City and County to see if AirBnB is paying the tax for me.  As it stands now, I am responsible for paying it, and pay a 240 fee each year for the privledge of paying the tax and being allowed to rent my condo.  If Airbnb is paying it, why do I need two licenses??
