Shipping items back to guests

Hello! I’m new to hosting and would like to know from seasoned hosts what is the acceptable procedure for shipping items left behind and back to guests?

1. How do you charge them?  Do you charge them on AirBnB and is yes, what would be listed under?

2. What is an acceptable time to ship

back? ( we are in between guests and turnovers are challenging. We are also hosting from a distance so coordinating someone to take time to ship it back and paying them is inconvenient.

3. Is it acceptable to charge a “convenience fee” for doing so? We have to pay our housekeeper or a friend to do this.

Grateful for any input.

I once had to ship a guest's eyeglasses and did not charge her for the convenience. I  sent it the next day, got basic insurance ($100) and shipped Priority Mail Flat Rate using the small box. Not sure of the size/weight of the item(s) but if it's a substantial cost you could request funds from the guest.

I always charge for time, gas, shipping, etc.
