last minute booking

i have a last minute booking for two nights. I require 2 days notice although i have wavered it for some if i have enough detail.  this person has just said what time they will arrive. i have asked for more detail about the person, not able to access her profile, she has told me where she is from and where she is goingbut nothing about previous airbnb experience or about her character. I have declined, couldnt find a way to access her phone no or email address although it was ticked to say she had supplied it. i tried clicking on it.

If this was a confirmed booking,  rather than an inquiry or request, then you wouldn't have to been able to simply decline it, you would have had to cancel, so I presume this was just an inquiry.

That being the case you won't be able to see her contact information or photo as there isn't a confirmed booking.

thanks. At the moment guests are booking instantly and i can see their profile and reviews. , so far people have been warm and friendly. I understand now why i cant find anything.  I can carry on my conversation with her, but i think i will decline anyway, i have THAT feeling.

I maybe need to do a bit of reading as you suggest.

If I were you, I would unclick that little box under your reservation preferences advance notice. Last minute bookings can be challenging and risky, especially when you're a new host.

Thanks so much for this tip. I am Actually dealing with this issue at the very moment. I clicked Accept request- not even realizing it was for today’s date, and it was already 8:30pm!!!!! Yikes!!! 😞 I could Have accommodated this person but with during research this women’s socials media was all “ erotica “ and sexual. ( her user name on Twitter was literally erotica something & pictures in g strings ) I think I could Have dodged a bullet. She ended up not wanting to come after I messaged Her and told her My babies might cry in the middle of night (11:30pm message ) She said she wasn’t comfortable with the in law suite situation which is very clearly stated in the description .
