"Awaiting Payment"

Hello all... brand new to hosting and my second reservation that came in yesterday for FRIDAY, like the day after tomorrow.  I had accepted a 24-hour hold though it said "awaiting payment". She tells me at the last moment that she can't program her prepaid credit card so now I may have lost the weekend booking opportunity. 

Has anyone else been burned by this feature? Is there a way to never accept "awaiting payment' inquiries?

Love to get a little perspective here.

(btw, she's never used Airbnb before... should i have known better?... ugh)
