120 days limit on hosting in France ?

Hi Everyone -  I am Vicky and with my husband Ferg we have 3 araptments that are called 'entire homes' as they have private entrances and kitchens etc.. but they are all attached to our main residence which is where we live 365 days of the year with our kids. 

My question is this : I have recently been told that we are limited to 120 days a year .....but i do not know if that is per residence or for all 3 of them ? If anyone is in the same situation i would be so grateful for your advice.

Also : would that resitriction apply if it was not our permenant residence  - we dont live in a city but a rural village.
