I have a private room rental in Sedona that usually runs 40% full monthly.

In the past week, I have received multi-day requests from 2 women, and 2 men.  All used instant booking.  What are the odds all these people are from the same small town (pop 1150) in rural Oklahoma and just happen to want to stay withme (there are more than 300 other sites they might choose)  I am about in the middle of the pack for price.  None of these people have reviews.

I have reposted my concern that this seems mighty odd to AirBnB but have not heard from a case manager, and it has been a few days.

Have any of you had a similar things happen?  If so, how did it go? IYHO, should I be concerned?

@Sean-And-Kimi0, you are probably talking about Kellyville OK - am I right? (magic trick - how did I guess?)

Actually there's a fairly long thread on this forum about somehow guests who haven't filled out their profiles completely having Kellyville OK or another town in NJ listed as the default.

If you search on "Kellyville" or "Oklahoma" you'll find the long and detailed thread.  General conclusion is that they are not scams, just a quirk of the profile process which ABB hasn't taken the time to fix.

If it's NOT kellyville, then you have a whole new thing going!

Oh Susie, you are a genius and exactly right. With your prescience, you should be in Sedona!

Hi @Sean-And-Kimi0, as @Susie5 already answered your question, I just wanted to add that you are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. I went to NAU and driving down to Sedona was the best! Long time ago, I know he area has grown a lot, but the natural beauty is superb!

Thanks Kate,

Kimi's a Lumberjill too! Feel free to come by sometime as our guest!

Just started hosting about 3 weeks ago and have 4 reservations and all 4 are from Kelleyville, OK. Thought that was mighty odd but I now see other host have experienced the same issues. Hopefully it's not a scam. By the way, is there a phone number listed where you can talk to a representive form Airbnb? Thanks

Tommy

Tommy, I had the same thing happen and had similar concerns. If the guest hasn't indicated a hometown, west of the Mississippi Airbnb assigns them Kelleyville, Oklahoma. We have hosted all from that listing without incident. Hope you are just as lucky.
