Hi,
There is a fair deal of discussion around Advance Notice and how it works. I have been through most of them as well as the situation they describe -- namely guests being able to book last minute although I require one day's advance notice.
Now, an interesting situation emerged. I am currently travelling and have a fifteen hours difference from my hosting location. What happened is the following: A guest requested to book around 2am (5pm at home) for the night. The reservation shows the correct timezone and asks for an answer before twenty-four hours -- I do not use Instant Booking -- which means after the actual reservation would take place.
So I have two questions:
1. Is the twenty-four hours' notice based on my current timezone? If yes, it should be based on the hosting location's timezone for obvious reasons.
2. Considering it is based on my current timezone, this is still not a full day's notice. How does the advance notice works and why does it allow same day bookings? It makes it inconvenient for hosts and guests alike.
Cheers,
