After a bad experience with an AirBNB guest I want to be able to pre-approve all future bookings

After a bad experience with an AirBNB guest I want to be able to pre-approve all future bookings

I recently had a really shocking guest stay- the second worst one I've had in over 15 years. I want to be able to vet future guests and have a read of their reviews before I accept a booking.

I  don't know if this is possible? I have read up about pre-approvals but I am not sure if this is the same thing? I just got a booking last night and I had no chance to approve- it just came through as confirmed.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

@Grant39

You have to turn off "Instant Book", then you will be in full control about the acceptance of the guests.

There is information in the HELP section about "inquiry" or "request", please read it there (using the keywords as mentioned)

Best regards,

@Grant39 . You will need to turn off "Instant Booking" on your listing to require people to request to stay at your place. Go to the Listing tab --> Edit --> Booking Settings --> Edit --> select the All guests must send a reservation request radio button. Make sure you SAVE as you back out.

No doubt AirBNB will throw up some dire warnings about how this will hurt your ranking and occupancy rates. These things are true, but you sound rather committed to this method of booking.

Thank you Susan for your advice. I have turned Instant Book off for now. Yes, AirBNB obviously discourage this but I will see how I go.

At least I know I can turn it back on in future.
