Automatic reservation?

Hi, I got a text message late last night saying that a guest had a confirmed reservation with me although I wasn't consulted to confirm whether or not this booking was workable. Luckily, the room is available but I assumed I would always get a request first and then choose whether or not to confirm each reservation. I'm new to this! Any advise much appreciated 😉

Instant book is on right now for your listing, @Lou99. If you wish guests to send requests, go (on a laptop) to Host -> Listings -> Booking Settings. Hit Edit beside How Guests Can Book. Choose "All guests must send a reservation request". 

You are new, so I will just recommend that you read everything you can find - in the Help Centre and in the emails Airbnb sent you - so that you are not broadsided by the way the site works.

@Lou99 If you have instant book activated then the guest can book without your confirmation unless you set rules to who you will allow to instant book with you.

Thanks so much guys! I didn't realise instant book was selected in my listing. Was quite a shock to get the confirmed booking 😉
