Cancelled an instant book and now can't host another guest for the same dates

Hello, 

I had to cancel a reservation because I was already in contact with someone else for those dates. Now that I cancelled the original reservation the original guest can't book the same dates because "they have been blocked due to cancellation". How do I go about fixing this ASAP?

@Madi0, you can't fix this yourself. You will have to contact AirBnB and  if you have extenuating circumstances they might unblock the dates for you, but with the reason you gave I very much doubt they will. AirBnB hates hosts cancelling as it affects the reputation of the platform, so they have various ways of penalising hosts for doing it and blocking off the dates is one.

How do you feel if someone delete your reservation after that you had planned all trip?
for that reason you can't do anything about.

Next time if you are unsure if you can or not take the reservation, just tell them that you would rather to wait the answer of the other one before accepting them.

Happened to me aswell,  I just tell them to be patience and wait.
