Changes to bookings

Hello,

I am wondering whether any hosts have had their guests amend the price of their booking unilaterally.  I had a guest come to stay and she wanted to extend for two more days.  I made an offer for the whole stay to amount to 2000 euros.  The guest then called airbnb and managed to have the stay amended to 1854 euros, without anyone contacting me!

When I questioned airbnb by email, they said that they got this from an email I sent her.  That email told her the nightly price based on 2000 euros. I am really disappointed.  I have sent airbnb two emails and after nearly three weeks have had no response.  I now have to try and chase them, but cannot even get anyone on the phone.

I want to know if anyone else has had a similar situation.  Surely, if the guest accepts a price online they cannot call airbnb and change the agreed price without someone from airbnb contacting the host!!!

@Isabella67  I am alarmed by what you experienced.  From what you have shared, it appears that the Air BNB rep acted outside the normal process.  If there is a change to any reservation, the change notice must be agreed by both parties.  I suggest you speak with another representative and review the process.

Thanks, Linda. I am alarmed too.  I am also quite shocked that I haven't received a proper response by email.  I tried to call today, but was cut off after waiting on hold for 15 minutes.  I will try again soon if I still receive nothing by email.
