Dishonest Review

Hi everyone, I just feel so disappointed with the review one of my guests who stayed in a few days ago wrote in my page, so I just want to share and want to know what to do. I had a couple stayed one night and they told me they will check in around 4-5pm when they booked. After they booked, I made a vet appointment for one of my dogs who has cancer at 4pm so that I can welcome the guest when they arrive. I do not offer self check in because I have 3 dogs and they bark a lot when strangers come in. On the day they arrive, they texted me in the morning said they want to check in 4-5 pm. So I said I made an appointment and unfortunatelly you can check in after 6. Then they said "Your listing says check in is between 2-9 pm, why we can't check in 4-5?" and I said "Yes check in is between 2-9 but I also mention that please communicate with me about check in time as I need to adjust my schedule for work and other stuff." But then I did not want to be a difficult host, so I offered self check in, which I usually do not allow. They said leaving a key under the door mat would be good. So I left the key under the door mat and left for the vet appt. When I came back from the vet which was 5:30, I thought they had already checked in. At 8:40pm I heard the door bell ringing and they actully showed up at 8:40. This is not violationg the house rule, but I did not know what time they are coming and thought they checked in by themselves. After they left, they wrote a bad review on my page and telling that they did not know what time they could check in so they were waiting at the beach. I was like,, I told them that I left a key so that they can self check in and they said that would be good. They did not tell me the time they really want to check in, so I am the one who was waiting to hear from them. I thought I compromised to offer self check in. They also wrote they did not have towels in the room but I definitely left two big towels to shower. I saw the unused towels were on the floor after they left. They did not use and put it on the floor. I can not juts believe why they wrote a dishonest review and I want this to be removed because it's not true. I work so I am not in the house all day, so even though check in is between 2-9pm I need to communicate with guests and make sure what time they want to check in so that I can schedule my work. Is that too much to ask?

@Asa5 of course you don't ask to much . I don't think ABB will remove their review but you can write an answer below it. Be neutral, write just facts, be very very short

Please make sure to only list facts. Take emotion all the way out of it.

Remove references to reasons you want check-in times to be known. It is acceptable to have the check-in requirement...and the listing of "I have 2-3 dogs and they bark" may scare others away. List facts and don't assume the "why" of it.. ie: "I left towels which were unused and left in a heap on the floor." Other guests will understand what you mean.

Understated replies to unreal/unusual complaints are best. They read as if you wrote "Don't believe the guest..." (with your eyes rolling around in your skull!)

I am so sorry you had to experience these guests.

Hi there,

One of my guest wrote a completely dishones review about my listing and i don't accept his review. My room was completely clean & tidy and i have more than 60 great reviews and nobody wrote a bad review about me. I would like to delete his fake reviews.
