I had a guest that asked to come down early and I agreed for a fee and sent them an request for the extra night and they never paid. I raised it to AirBnB and they contacted him and he said he didn't come early the extra night even though we have logs via AirBnb messages where he asked and confirmed he was coming early and I even have logs showing the times he used the code to enter the unit. Guess that was not enough proof for AirBnb and the guest is always right?
Then they wouldn't leave at checkout because they were still drunk and had puked all over the place, had a dog in there that had pooped all over, and had smoked in there!!! The 3 biggest things I had set violation fines with them upfront about if they broke!
They ignored every rule and did whatever they wanted. I was devastated but thought at least I charged a $500 deposit through AirBnb. Airbnb has NO interest in reimbursing for violations (even with damaged carpet) and seems to be fine with them breaking all those rules and does not want me to touch their deposit.
This feels SOOOOO wrong as a host. Is this just the way hosts are treated with AirBnb? No rights unless something is broken that you can show a receipt for? I have loved AirBnb until I had my first incident and I am thinking either something is wrong or I need to go to VRBO.
Please let me know if anyone has any advice, thank you!!!!
