Guest needs help uploading ID

Yesterday, I received this message from a potential guest: 

 

"I made the mistake of using landline phone # and airbnb can't send text for me to upload ID. I'm not much of a techy and cant figure way to change phone # to cell #." 

 

He has made an inquiry about a set of dates, which I've pre-approved. I'm almost certain he's a first-time Airbnb user. Will he be able to book without solving this problem? Can I help him get it solved in any way?

Hello @Heidi142,

 

Your pre-approval has probably expired by now.

 

The guest should be able to log on and change their phone number to be their mobile phone number.

They may be asked to enter a code to complete this step. If so, Airbnb will ask them how they want to receive the code. They can choose the phone call option if they have access to their landline or its voicemail service. Otherwise they'll have to choose the email option.

There are lots of ways to fix this and the involve him getting online and updating his profile and account details, but one other option you have is to notify Airbnb from your end and ask them to assist him to set up his profile to help him with his membership info and to facilitate the booking with you. I have experienced this as a solution for newbies in the past.
