Hay anybody else experienced problems with receiving Text/SMS messages

I am presently experiencing negative response rates as all of a sudden I no longer receive Text/SMS messages. I manage my booking by responding once I have been notified that I have an enquiry/request. Obviuosly this has not been happening because I am unaware I have a request.

Despite even speaking to a person at Airbnb this has still not been resolved?

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi All,  

 

I'm still receiving SMS text messages (but with limited number of characters, so the message usually stops halfway through a sentance!) but I'm not able to accept a booking by replying to the SMS.  I'm sure I found some information somewhere explaining why this was but now can't find it.  Like others this means I'm being 'slow' in responding which is affecting my listing.

I thought it was just me and my phone.  I am new to Airbnb.  I have had problems multiple times communiting with my guests.  I monitor the Airbnb website all the time and try to answer guests on the site, but I also receive an email with an inquiry or booking via email.  If I answer the email it doesn't sync with the website completely.  A booking will go to the calendar, but it doesn't show that I have responded to the guest and that my rating will be lower unless I respond.  I have always made contact with the quests, but when they are traveling they want to text because they don't have access to a computer.    I can't answer their texts.  I am very frustrated, but will just deal with it since I'm not alone. When I try to respond to a text I get a message that my phone carrier is not set up receive messages (AT&T not set up?)

You need to download the Airbnb phone app to your phone to be able to respond to enquiries.

What is happening at the moment Margi you are getting a message alert on your phone but, that alert is coming from the generic side of the Airbnb program! The message will be incomplete  and you can't respond to it! It is simply an alert that you need to respond to from your Airbnb profile, nothing else.

What you need to do is follow this link and download the appropriate app for your phone system, be it Android or Apple.

This link will take you to the official Airbnb app....

Make sure you allow the app to fully download and if the download should stop part way, delete it and download again.

Once you have dowloaded this app you will have almost full functionality on your phone. You will be able to perform most functions that you currently can on your computer. The only things you will not have access to are sensitive account information which you will still need your computer to access and change.
