Hello!! I am new with airbnb - Resort Taxes

Hello, i have a unit on Miami Beach and I am new with this. I will really appreciate all your recomendations on how to promote my apartment, also if any of you know how exactly i have to pay for resort taxes and is this tax for the total payout or the net payment the airbnb do to me???

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello @Mari97 ,

As you can see on your own listing there are some taxes charged by Airbnb from the guest. It says:

General Sales and Use Tax (Florida)

General Sales and Use Tax (Miami-dade)

Convention Development Tax (Miami-dade)

Nothing mentioned about Resort taxes, so you have to find out yourself if they excists and charge the guest seperately, if neccessary

Best regards, Emiel

 Thank you for your response

how is the separate charge made

Oh boy

so much to learn

regards

You are right about so much to learn, @Mari97!  You might be better served regarding your learning curve if you also looked up articles in the Help Center about taxes.  Several articles address what taxes are specifically taken in your area and how that works.   As to any taxes that are not collected and remitted by Air BNB, it would be best for you to look up this information in your area such as a City website.   Good luck with the learning thing 😛

Good evening. Are you looking to handle the process or would you be interested in another party handling the process?

We are in the business of helping owners set up there properties on Airbnb, answering emails, working with guests and owners, setting up the cleaning and maintenance if needed. In addition to that we can reserach the state, city and county regulations for you.

We have a current client who lives in Fort Lauderdale, we live in Jacksonville. He has 2 properties in Fort Lauderdale and one in Marathon that we handle and work with him.

If you would like additional information, please feel free to contact us at [Email address hidden as per the community guidelines]
