I can't find my listing through searches, I constrict to a map and nothing

I am a super host with over 70 guests stayed, I called technical support and they told me to lower the price or delete the app and try again.

I don't see why I would lower the price since we've been full all of summer. Furthermore, starting September 2nd we have zero bookings, normally we have bookings a few weeks in advance.

Not sure what's going on

Here is a link to the listing

@Emilia42 I still can't find it! Are we talking about the same listing?

ok well SOMETHING is going in the right directions because i show up now when i just tried to search. That's me on the bottom right of the 6 listings! I have no idea what would have worked (though i did turn intant booking on/off and also "snoozed" the listing and then removed the snooze). what a fun day trying to troubleshoot Airbnb weirdness.

Phew, i will have to check back in a half hour to see if it still shows up.

@Emiel1 @Emilia42 @Kate603 OK, now it is popping up first for me too. (Whether you can instant-book probably depends on whether you are logged in and meet instant-book requirements.) Maybe snoozing and un-snoozing did the trick. Very disconcerting. "Rare Find" indeed. 🙂

HA! the *rarest find* as it only appears in search results ad hoc. ACT NOW while it still shows up haha

I think the worst parts of the whole ordeal are (1) it was probably offiline for weeks and i didnt notice since August was so busy and (2) Airbnb's "support" merely suggested i delete the app and reinstall to see if that helped. None of the suggestions you all gave about adjusting settings, zoom, etc.

Good things we have host forums i guess!

@Lisa723,

There is IMHO nothing wrong with the listing. I saw it in the direct search link (which is good indication that it is at least IN the search system). I saw also Kate's screenprint does not show IMO the right location on the map. When i did a search as a guest (without filters or dates), the listing was normally appearing in the search results, after doing some "zooming in" towards the  location where it should be.

@Emiel1 yes that is true NOW, but it definitely was not true when @Kate603 posted her query. I tried very hard to find it in all kinds of ways, not depending on the specific location. With the direct link I could instant-book, so I agree it was open, but it definitely was NOT showing up in any searches. (Refreshing the same searches now, it does.)

I too cannot see my listing when I search annoymously.  I use the map to zoom in on my location, and I am not there.  I have checked all the settings, and they are all fine.  This appears to be a software problem with Airbnb, they have made some sort of change without testing.  I think it's a recent phenomenon.  I have logged an IT ticket.  Each of us need to escalate this to Support.  I have almost no bookings for October and yet, I am continually told that searches are up and that inventory is low.

@Kim285 your listing popped up first for me.

Lisa:

I've tested this, and when you exclude dates, my listing shows.  When you use dates, such as Oct 16 & 17, 2018, my listing disappears.  (Those dates are open).

I have screen shots of this, with and without dates.  I've logged a case with tech support, but they have not responded.

Suggestions?

Kim

@Kim285 I still see it first on a search of those dates, with the label "rare find".

Just got a phone call from a guest who has stayed with me twice before through Airbnb.  She said she spent hours trying to find my listing, using every possible filter and every variation of my listing name.  She entered multiple dates but nothing ever came up.  Fortunately she had kept my phone number so she was able to contact me.

The dates she is seeking are wide open, so that's not the problem.  The problem is that Airbnb doesn't make it easy for prospective guests to find us, in fact Airbnb seems to work hard to prevent our being found.  So much for being a super host.

So since this guest has no way to book through Airbnb, which doesn't even acknowledge my existence, why shouldn't I just book direct with her?  It's not something I like to do, but I don't really know what options I have, and I also feel it serves Airbnb right if they lose revenue as a result of hiding my listing.

Would appreciate other opinions.
