Listings - Apartments to list which Floor they are on....

Hi there - I am Suzanne and have been a host in te Adelaide Hills in Australia for over 3 and a half years now, and love it

Unsure where to direct this query....so here goes....

I have just had some older guests stay with me and they commented that when they've been looking for accommodation - particularly in Europe that there is no mention of which floor the appartment is on in the listing - they have encountered situations where it may be on the 5th floor and there are no lifts - could this be made part of the criteria to state on which floor the accommodation is on ??

'Lift' is there as an amenity tick box - however you are right that there is no requirement to say which floor you are on. I wonder how widespread the issue really is however I think you should put this suggestion in Host Voice (the Discuss menu drop down)

Actually, a field that identified properties that may be challenging for those with mobility issues or positively identify those with easy access would be super useful.  Currently only Accessible (i.e. wheelchair 'friendly') is an option.  However, this positive screen doesn't allow users with no requirement for wheelchair access but still with impaired mobility to find a suitable property. I have a family member with an LVAD, and whilst he doesn't require any mobility aids, more than one flight of stairs is a bit of a stretch.  How about 'Easy Access' being added as a filter?

Yes, it's subjective and depends on the common sense of the host who selects this option and also the common sense of the guest to ask the right questions to identify the actual access status, but it would certainly help.  It would also give Airbnb a nice fuzzy glow because it demonstrates a somewhat less 'binary' approach to the definition of 'accessibility'.  And god knows, Airbnb could certainly use a few halo enhancing tweaks at the moment 😞

I note in the listing that it's accessed by wooden stairs and that if a potential guest has issues with stairs that this may not be the listing for them. Get it in up front.
