Payout

I recently had a 3 week booking, the payout was substantially less than the Total Payout on my transaction history. My guests booked in October 2017, they are from Europe so I am assuming they paid in Euros, my listing is in South African Rands ZAR. I was paid out in January 2018. The reason given by the AirBnb help desk for the shortfall is that when the booking is made it is converted to USD. If between the payment date and the payout date the currency (which AirBnb holds) USD devalues against the payout currency the host has to bear this cost, which means you get paid out a lot less than you quoted.

I think this is grossly unfair as I have no control over what AirBnb does with the money whilst they are holding it.

I cannot run my business if the payouts are not reconciled to my bookings. I am currently listed with a number of other service providers and have not experienced this problem before. It is also not an isolated case as my previous booking had a similar shortfall.

@Richard607, Not only is it unfair, but also beyond the European accounting law and credit regulations. It is simply speculation. But certain countries and its institutions rely on it, blinding the rest of the world.

I am disgusted to hear this, and I wonder if they will use the same LAME excuse with me.  Today they have told me that my payout is $150 less than my stated payout on the Itinery provided on-line.  That is the cleaning fee.......Does this mean they forgot to charge my guest the cleaning fee?
