Random Question About Bed Height - Seeking Opinions!

I got a new mattress for my guest room but I'm undecided about a new bedframe. Most of the ones that I like, and that seem sturdy and durable and priced well are low height - anywhere from 9-12 inches off the floor (plus a 10-inch mattress). The current bedframe + mattress is 22 inches tall, which looks fine. I'm just concerned if I go any lower, it will look weird or may be hard to get in/out of?

Are there any pros/cons to lower/higher bed heights?? I do not need underbed storage, so that's not a consideration.

As a guest, would a lower or higher bed be an issue??

I think having a bed that’s too high is a consideration for accessibility reasons.  We have twin beds in a room that have deep mattresses, a box spring, and are up off the floor in a bed frame, and I think they border on being too high for my very young guests, elderly guests, and guests with mobility issues.  Haven’t had any complaints, but I think a little lower would have been better.

As a general rule, the bed must be a little bit higher then your knees. For most people, that means 55-60 cm minimum. 5cm makes a big difference.

@Suzanne302  "Standard" bed height, according to Google searches, is 25", but can go as low as 16". (25" seems high to me, but I'm short. My bed is 24" because I like a high bed, but my guest bed is quite a bit lower than that) .But a bed 16" high would be difficult for some people, especially older folks, or really heavy ones, or those who aren't agile, to get into and out of. So if you went with the 11-12" frames you like, with your 10" mattress, it should be fine.

Certain bed standards are usually listed in furniture store catalogs. Such magazines indicate the height for sleeping, guest, and office sofas.
