Hello my name is Tawana **** and I am the outpatient BMT social worker at the Medical University of South Carolina. Patient's come from all over the southeast to receive bone marrow transplant's at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a condition to them receiving treatment, all patients and their caregivers have to live in the Charleston, SC area for 30-100 days after receiving treatment. As you can imagine this is a huge financial burden for 80% of our patients. I was wondering could we partner with any host homes in the Charleston, SC area to offer your home at a reduced rate. I can be reached at *****
Thanks!

Wow you are amazing. What a great out of the box idea. I wish I could help. Maybe if you had a patient and their family who needed a respite or make a wish trip to Colorado? Keep us in mind. Good luck. @Tawana3
I know it sounds lovely, but this is not a good idea.
In addition to the discount which you propose already comes out of the host pocket, many of these guests will have special needs as well considering transplant is not a small thing.
A more honest effort could be made would be getting a local charity to help pay the housing costs for these patients. You could ask airbnb to sponsor something like this, but they would decline for the same reasons I listed above.
Lovely to meet you. Thank you for your post and for all the incredible work you do.
I wonder have you had a look at Airbnb's Open Homes program? Medical stays have recently been incorporated into the program, so this may be of interest to you.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Lizzie
