Summer Bedding

Summer Bedding

Hi,

I just got started on hosting and bought all the bedding for winter.  I am curious on what everyone use for summer blankets?  Do you leave blankets in the closets or do you have your cleaning people make the beds with a quilt or something else for every bed?

Hi @Lisa877

Your profile here is not linked to a listing, so I am not sure where you are based 🙂

I am in the UK, so even in summer, it is not too hot, so I use a light duvet (4 TOG, machine washable, from Ikea).

In really hot days, I give guest the choice of only flat sheets.

I also offer a fan - if you offer AC, I think people would need a blanket, even in summer. This would be my personal preference.

I have a winter/summer convertible duvet. Blankets aren't a great idea because they're a pain to wash (and they must be washed, whether you think they've been used or not).

We switch to light quilts for summer.  Although this coming year we are switching to quilts+blankets for winter becaue the large comforters are simply too cumbersome to deal with and they get ruined very quickly by repeated washings even by the professionals.
